Biography

Alisa Khomutova (Alice) grew up in Los Angeles, California.¬†She attended UC Davis and completed a major in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior with a minor in Russian Language. She graduated in three years with Magna Cum Laude. Between college and medical school, Alice took a year off to paint, travel and teach. She then moved from sunny Los Angeles to wintry Michigan to spend the next four years at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Despite her mother’s dreams, she matched even further east into General Surgery at Stony Brook University, relocating to Long Island, New York. As of Winter 2023, Alice is a PGY-4 general surgery resident at Stony Brook Hospital with plans to pursue a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship. She hopes to continue her passion for teaching by eventually joining an academic hospital and mentoring fellows, residents and medical students.¬†
