Biography

Nova Szoka MD, FACS, FASMBS (she/her/hers) is an associate professor at West Virginia University. She completed medical school at UC Davis, general surgery residency at the University of New Mexico, and a Bariatric/MIS Fellowship at Duke University. She performs metabolic, weight loss, and foregut surgery using the latest minimally invasive techniques in laparoscopy and robotics. Her research interests include: obesity/bariatric outcomes, biodesign, as well as healthcare disparities involving sexual and gender minority populations. Dr. Szoka is also the founder of Endolumik Inc. a surgical device company developing fluorescent guided surgical tools. @NovaSzokaMD
