Biography

Jennifer Shapiro, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in California, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington. She is the director of everyBody Behavioral Health, a group practice consisting of psychologists, therapists, and registered dietitians who specialize in disordered eating and obesity.Dr. Shapiro completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York (2004). She completed her clinical internship at Duke University Medical Center (2004) and a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, Department of Psychiatry, Eating Disorders Program (UNC-ED). She then became Assistant Professor at UNC-ED. Dr. Shapiro has developed scientifically based group programs for Weight Management, and Binge Eating Disorder and has trained other providers in the treatment of eating disorders and obesity as well as psychological evaluations for bariatric surgery. Dr. Shapiro has received several grants for her research on eating disorders and obesity and has published numerous scientific papers. Dr. Shapiro formed everyBody Behavioral Health in 2009 and has grown the practice into a multidisciplinary team of experts in eating disorders and obesity who work clinically with patients and physicians/bariatric surgeons across the United States.
