Biography

Dr. Karas attended medical school at Wright State University, did her residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, and completed a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. She started a successful bariatric surgery program in a rural health system in Mid-Ohio, prior to joining the bariatric team at University Hospitals in Cleveland. She is the new co-chair of the Rural Surgery Committee and has been part of the Access to Care Committee as well for the last 6 years. Bringing cutting edge surgical care to medically underserved and overlooked areas is her passion.
