Biography

Saber Ghiassi, MD, MPH, is an Associate professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine and he serves as the Section Chief of General Surgery and Site Director for Bariatric Surgery at Bridgeport Hospital. He has extensive experience in treatment of obesity and metabolic syndrome, and he is dedicated to caring for his patients through a holistic approach to health and well-being.Dr. Ghiassi completed his general surgery training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where he served as the administrative chief resident and was awarded the prestigious Alfred H. Aufses, Sr. Award in Surgery. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he conducted research on how bariatric surgery can dramatically reduce lifelong costs for those with diabetes and hypertension.
