Biography

Judy Chen, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.M.B.S., A.B.O.M. is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the department of general surgery at University of Washington. Her clinical interests include advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery and laparoscopic metabolic weight management surgery.She attended medical school at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, her Residency at Boston University Medical Center and her Fellowship was at Harvard‚Äôs Brigham & Women‚Äôs Advanced Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Fellowship. Dr Chen is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, The American Board of Obesity Medicine and is an ASMBS Center of Excellence qualified surgeon.She has been named one of Seattle’s Top Doctors multiple times. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to each of her patients while treating them with compassion and respect.Her personal interests include a love for cooking, eating, kayaking and skiing. But most of all, she loves spending time with her family at fun Seattle sites. She was born in Hawaii, but she grew up in Seattle so is very happy to be practicing in the beautiful Northwest.
