Biography

Erica Amianda has been a practicing surgical physician assistant for 13 years, working in Bariatrics for the last 11. She is the Chief Physician Assistant for the Bariatric Program at Hackensack University Medical Center, located in NJ – 9 miles outside of NYC. As the Bariatric Coordinator she designed a quality improvement effort that reduced their readmissions in half. She also manages the operations for the NSQIP and MBSAQIP databases and is also actively involved in the ISCR for Colorectal, the Urology Quality Council and the Department of Surgery Quality Improvement Committee. Erica attended the CUNY York PA Program, and also has a BA in Psychology from Johns Hopkins, an MHA from Seton Hall University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Medical Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.Erica is the founding Vice President of PAs in Obesity Medicine, as well as a founding Co-Chair of the 1st APP Committee for the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. She serves as a NJ Delegate for the American Academy of PAs and teaches and precepts at the Seton Hall PA Program. In her free time she enjoys seeing standup comedy, riding her Peloton, and spending time with her two young boys.
